The goal of the Cape Cod Adult Community Crisis Stabilization program is to assist individuals in crises to stabilize, to strengthen their coping resources and supports, and to partner with them in developing plans to improve their wellbeing.
The Adult Community Crisis Stabilization program provides state of the art diversionary care to individuals who would benefit from placement in a program where they can be safely maintained in a less restrictive level of care than an inpatient unit. The unit is an unlocked, voluntary space where people in crisis are provided with comprehensive medical, psychiatric and addiction assessment and treatment that promote their overall stabilization and return to the community.
Youth Community Crisis Stabilization is provided through a partnership arrangement with Child and Family Services and is located in New Bedford. The program works with children/adolescents, up to and including the age of 18, who are experiencing behavioral health symptoms that would best be helped in a short term 24-hour voluntary treatment setting.
The primary function of the program is to provide short-term crisis stabilization, therapeutic interventions, and a high degree of supervision and structure. The treatment provided at the program is carefully coordinated with existing or newly established community-based treatment provider(s). Services are provided in a comfortable, youth and family friendly environment conducive to recovery and stabilization.
